Frequently asked questions

Pool chairs, pool lifts, aquatic elevators, pool stairlifts, pool cranes, etc. Many different names to refer to them, but what is clear is that they are already an essential complement to the aquatic environment and are established, both out of necessity and by law.

In this section, you can find common questions that may arise, which we answer. If these are not enough, you can fill out the form at the bottom of the page, write to us at info@ascensoracuatico.com or call us at 955 90 77 84.

Making your pool accessible is that simple:How does it work?

How does it work?

Hydraulic Lifts: Hydraulic pool lifts work with the mains water pressure. They need a water connection with at least 3.5 bar to lift 120 kg and 5.5 bar to lift 150 kg.

Battery-powered Lifts: Battery-powered pool lifts work with an electrical mechanism composed of a 24V electric actuator, a control box, a hand control panel, a battery, and a charger. The battery is charged in a charger independent of the lift. And two batteries are always sent so that one can be charging while the other is in use. It is not necessary for it to be connected to anything or near a power outlet.

Is construction work required to install the lift?

No. The installation of the pool lifts simply consists of anchoring/fixing the lift to the edge of the pool (always on the exterior) and running a water connection for the hydraulic pool lifts.

Each model has a different anchoring system, except for the METALU 400 model which does not require any type of anchoring or installation. Is the user completely autonomous?

Is the user completely autonomous?

All our pool lifts are designed for the user to be completely autonomous, as long as the physical limitation allows it.

In the hydraulic pool chairs, the control is located so that it can be operated both from outside and inside the pool.

In the case of battery-powered pool lifts, the raising and lowering of the chair is operated with a hand control panel completely accessible to the user.

What are the materials that make up the aquatic lifts?

The pool lifts are manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel, the highest quality steel. In the case of battery-powered pool lifts, the electrical components have IP65 (a quite high IP), necessary for resistance to humidity. The manufacturing is 100% in-house, excluding only the lacquering (varnishing) of the models, as can be seen in our corporate video.

Are they connected to electricity?

No. None of our pool lifts are connected to the electrical grid.

Hydraulic pool lifts work with the mains water pressure. They need a water connection with a pressure between 3.5 and 5.5 kg, depending on the desired lifting capacity.

Battery-powered pool lifts move with the use of an integrated battery, which is charged in a charger independent of the lift, which does have to be connected to electricity. By including two, one can be charging while the other is in use.

Where is the battery charger placed?

The charger should be placed in a covered and dry environment, such as in locations like the pump room, changing rooms, office, etc.

Does the pool have to be empty for installation?

No. In most cases, the lift is installed with the pool full. The anchoring of the lifts is always done on the exterior of the pool. On the interior, they only have one support point (in the case of hydraulic pool lifts)

Who can install the lift?

The installation of the pool lifts is very simple. The lifts are sent with very clear step-by-step assembly instructions and the phone number of our technicians to answer any questions that may arise. Any pool technical service personnel can do it without any problem.

Are the pool lifts fixed?

None of the METALU pool lifts are fixed as such; they are portable or fixed-detachable.

The METALU 400 and METALU PK models are portable. In the case of the former, it is completely mobile, without any anchoring, so you just have to push it and place it at the point of the pool you want to use. Regarding the METALU PK, it has a single anchoring point on the exterior of the basin, but it can be removed and put back in just three minutes with ease, allowing it to be placed at another point with anchoring. Its weight and wheel make it very easy to transport.

The rest of the pool lift models – METALU 600, METALU B-2 and Gama 3000 – are fixed-detachable, meaning that for their operation they are anchored/fixed to the floor, but they can be disassembled when the swimming season ends or at any time.

What is the delivery time?

For standard pool lifts (METALU PK, METALU B-2, METALU 400 and METALU 600), the delivery time is between 3 and 10 business days, always leaving our facilities within 24/48 hours.

Regarding custom-made models (Gama 3000), they are delivered in approximately 25 business days, from the order confirmation.

How will I receive my order?

We send our pool lifts through different transport agencies, depending on the model. If you need the dimensions of the packages, you can request the packing list from us.

And when I receive it, what then?

All our pool lifts are accompanied by step-by-step assembly instructions and a user manual. In these instructions, we indicate two mobile phone numbers to resolve any questions that may arise during installation.

Do the pool lifts need an annual review?

No. METALU pool lifts do not require reviews; external cleaning is the only mandatory maintenance.

Who is authorized to use it?

Each model is accompanied by very basic rules of use. Pool lifts should only be used by pool managers and users.

What do the five years of warranty cover?

All lifts have a three-year warranty against all manufacturing and operating defects and five years for spare parts (except batteries, which have a two-year warranty).

All our lifts have an identity plate, with the year of manufacture and a serial number, so that over the years, when supplying a spare part, we can provide an efficient service and deliver the piece quickly.

Being manufacturers, we are always evolving and making improvements to the products. With this serial number, we are supplying spare parts corresponding to aquatic elevators from more than 20 years ago without any difficulty.

Tips for good use and maintenanceHydraulic Lifts

Hydraulic lifts

External cleaning is the only mandatory maintenance for METALU hydraulic pool lifts. Daily, fresh water under pressure should be applied to the lift and dried with a cotton cloth.

Keep in mind that although METALU pool lifts are manufactured with AISI 316 stainless steel, chlorine water splashes, dust, and all kinds of impurities fall on the surface of the lift. If these particles are not cleaned, they become encrusted in the steel over time, leaving a poor appearance.

To avoid this, it is enough to pass the fresh water hose (with some pressure) over the aquatic elevator every day, and then dry it with a cotton cloth to ensure that all these particles are eliminated and do not become embedded in the steel.

INDOOR POOLS

If the aquatic elevator is used in an indoor pool, cleaning is essential. In this case, pools under a closed roof, which have regulated water temperature and atmospheric environment, have less renewal of these elements than outdoor pools and often a greater intensity of use.

All this translates into a greater load of bathers, more organic contamination and, consequently, an increase in the dose of disinfectant products.

These products contain volatile particles that condense in the poorly ventilated air, adhering to metallic surfaces.

Therefore, it is recommended to follow the cleaning instructions to keep your METALU pool lift as good as new.Battery-powered Lifts

Battery-powered lifts

Regarding METALU battery-powered pool lifts, in addition to the cleaning tips, it is very important to consider the conservation and use of the batteries.

Two batteries are supplied with the lift, one for use and one in reserve, so one can be charging while the other operates the aquatic elevator.

It is very important to follow some guidelines:

  • Place the charger in a covered and dry environment.
  • Charge the batteries before they run out -15 or 20 uses
  • In the low season or for little-used lifts, charge the batteries at least once a month, even when they are not operating.
  • The batteries are manufactured with a material that does not create memory, so they do not lose charging capacity.
